Beacon Technology Link&Locate 386 is an absolute linker/locator/builder for embedded 32-bit protected-mode and 16-bit protected-mode 286/386/486/Pentium applications.
It has the flexibility to define and construct segment descriptors, local, global, and interrupt descriptor tables, task, interrupt, call and trap gates, and task state segments (TSS). Link&Locate 386 also builds DOS-Extender applications.
Link&Locate 386 may be used on either DOS, Windows 95/98, or NT host environments, it works with:-
- Metaware High C/C++ 32-bit optimising compiler
- Watcom C/C++ 32-bit optimising compiler
- Microsoft Visual C/C++ 16-bit and 32-bit optimising compilers
- Borland C/C+ 32-bit optimising compiler
Key Features
- Supports both flat and multi-segmented protect mode memory models along with virtual 8086 mode application development.
- Builds Intel OMF-286 and OMF-386 boot-loadable absolute files for embedded system development.
- Builds .REX and .EXP files for DOS-Extender applications.
- Generates Binary, Intel Hex and Intel Extended Hex files for PROM Programmers.
- Links, locates and builds 16-bit or 32-bit protected mode applications in one pass.
- Supports incremental linking to reduce linking time with very large applications.
- Allows the locations of segments, classes and groups to any physical address in any order.
- Includes full assembly and C source code to the reset and start-up code with DOS-Independent run-time support, C, C++, and floating point examples.
- Constructs gates, tasks and descriptor tables according to the specifications in a build file.
- Supports compressed initialised data to minimise ROM overhead. C assembly source code is provided for the data unpack routine.
