VisualProbe Remote Debugger

This is a Windows-hosted source-level and symbolic debugger for real-mode and protected-mode 386 / 386EX / 486 / Pentium embedded C applications. VisualProbe allows downloading of a program from the host PC and debugging on the actual 386 / 386EX / 486 / Pentium target system.

A target monitor program resides on the target system which controls program execution and communicates with the host system through a RS-232 serial port. VisualProbe remote debugger includes a reconfigurable target monitor. Also included with this product are a number of pre-configured target monitors for some commonly used evaluation boards.

• 16-bit real mode, virtual 8086 mode and a math coprocessor (FPU) in the target system are all supported.
• Target debugging in source code, disassembly, or a mixed mode of source code and disassembly.
• Complete access to C, and assembly symbolic names, data types, functions, source statements and source modules. C++ source level debugging is supported, C++ expressions and mangled-names are not.
• Windows-hosted graphical user interface with pull-down menus, mouse support, online and context sensitive help, and overlapping and resizable windows.
• This interface enables you to concurrently display command dialog and history, source code, CPU and FPU registers, memory, program variables and much more.
