The Embest range of JTAG interfaces with integrated development
software based on the GCC compiler and a range of evaluation boards (EVBs)
provides a low cost route to ARM development. These support a
wide range of ARM7 and ARM9 cores from ATMEL, SAMSUNG, PHILIPS,
CIRRUS, LINKUP, OKI, Sharp and ST Microelectronics.
So you can mix and match an Evaluation Board with your chosen core +
lots of example programs + a C Compiler + a Debugger + Flash Programmer + a
JTAG Interface to give you a complete package that will have you up and
creating ARM code the day it arrives. Embest have even made it easy by
creating complete kits with an EVB,JTAG interface, IDE, Compiler, Debugger
and Flash Programmer all at a specially low price.
COMSOL holds a full range of Embest development tools and the
most popular EVBs in stock for next day delivery via our web shop.
JTAG Interfaces for ARM
Embest provide both parallel and, for higher speed, USB interfaces
between the PC and the ARMs JTAG debugging port. Supporting software
includes 2 seat licence for an IDE with the GCC compiler ready linked to give "out of the box"
program development. Also include are drivers to allow the JTAG
interfaces to be used with the GDB program and with popular commercial
compilers who's debuggers support the ARM RDI standards such as SDT/ADS.
Embest IDE for ARM
This powerful tools suit combines a JTAG based debugger, an editor, a
user ready copy of the GNU compiler, a project manager, flash
programming software and an ARM instruction simulator all in an easy to use
Windows based graphical user interface. Many example programs are also
provides to get you quickly up and running using GCC on your chosen target.
Evaluation Boards and Single board Computers (EVB & SBC)
Boards from Embest are available to support a number of ARM processors from
Philips, STMicroelectronics, Samsung, Atmel, Cirrus Logic and Intel. These
boards are supplied with many GCC source code examples and make a good
starting point for the development of all kinds of embedded applications.
Some of these boards have buttons, LEDs and Analogue pots and outputs making
them ideal evaluation, development and training platforms(EVBs). Some of them just have the
CPU, memory and connection points for the I/O so they can be used as drop in
processing boards that power your application (SBCs).
Selected Embest boards are now available bundled with UNetICE and a
single software licence at a special price as Embest Kits ---
