These Embest ARM Evaluation Boards can of course be used with any ARM development system.  If you have not already chosen a JTAG interface and compiler then for a very cost effective solution you should consider the Embest JTAG interface, ARM IDE software based on the GCC compiler and Flash Programmer. Samsung S3CEB2410 Evaluation Board

The Embest S3CEB2410 evaluation board is a development platform based on the Samsung S3C2410X processor. The S3C2410X consists of 16-/32-bit RISC (ARM920T) CPU core, separate 16KB instruction and 16KB data cache, MMU to handle virtual memory management, LCD controller (STN & TFT), NAND flash boot loader, System Manager (chip select logic and SDRAM controller), 3-ch UART, 4-ch DMA, 4-ch Timers with PWM, I/O ports, RTC, 8-ch 10-bit ADC and touch screen interface, I²C-BUS interface, IIS-BUS interface, USB host, USB device, SD host & multimedia card interface, 2-ch SPI and PLL for clock generation. The Embest S3CEB2410 evaluation board can be used as a development platform, either with the aim of using the board in the target application or using this board as a reference design for a custom board.

The board uses +3.3V internal supplies to CPU’s I/O and peripheral components. Users can switch the CPU to a 1.8V power save mode via program control.

Embest Samsung SBC2410-I Single Board ComputerSamsung SBC2410-I Single Board Computer

ARM920T Single-board Computer based on the Samsung S3C2410 with full Bus and Peripheral Signal Expansion and capable of supporting Linux, WinCE or any embedded operating system.

The SBC2410-I is a full-featured single board computer (SBC) using the Samsung S3C2410 processor, which is based on the ARM920T architecture. This 16/32 bit RISC architecture can operate at 200MHz and contains a memory management unit making it a suitable platform for stand alone applications, embedded real time operating systems and complex OS such as Linux or WinCE.

The SBC2410-I supports a variety of onboard peripherals such as a serial Flash, 64Mbyte NOR Flash, 128Mbyte SDRAM, 2-channel USB Host and 1-channel USB Device, interfaces for buzzer, battery backed RTC, and reset button. In addition to this, expansion connections are made available via a number of header connectors to support LCD, touch screen, matrix keypad, SD card and JTAG debugging. Source code examples are provided with the SBC2410-I giving the designer the ability to both understand hardware operation and also to quickly develop applications. Optional LCD display hardware is available for this development board and can be easily connected to an existing header. Sample test software is provided for this interface.

The SBC2410-II is another full-featured single board computer (SBC) released by Embest. The 16/32-bit S3C2410 processor is based on the ARM920T architecture and can operate at 200MHz. It contains a memory management unit making it a suitable platform for stand alone applications, embedded real time operating systems and complex operating systems such as Linux or WinCE.

The Embest SBC2410-II single board computer takes advantage of the S3C2410 ARM920T microcontroller, supporting a variety of onboard memory and peripherals such as 1MByte NOR Flash, 64MByte NAND Flash, 64MByte SDRAM, 1 USB Host and 1 USB Device, RS232 port, a 10M Ethernet interface, AC97, battery backed RTC, LEDs, test and reset buttons. The design provides an ideal embedded computer platform and can be used not, only as a development board, but also as a powerful single board computer.

Embest Samsung SBC2410-II ComputerSamsung SBC2410-III Computer

The SBC2410-III is a cost-effective application-ready board integrating Samsung's ARM9 S3C2410A using an ultra-compact kernel board mounted directly on top of a carrier board.

Embest SBC2410-III computer uses a kernel board providing most of the CPU functions and has a S3C2410A CPU, 64MByte NAND Flash, 32MByte SDRAM on it. The carrier board has signal conditioning for various peripherals on it, such as USB Host, USB Device, hard disk port, serial ports, Ethernet interface, LCD interface, audio, battery, LEDs, test and reset buttons, etc.

In order to offer users a fast time-to-market and a customizable and flexible reference platform, the board is preloaded with Linux and provided with compiler, kernel, bootloader, etc.

Samsung SBC2440-I Computer

The SBC2440-I is a ready-to-use single board computer using Samsung’s 16/32-bit S3C2440 processor based upon the ARM920T architecture. It can operate at 400MHz and is designed to provide hand-held devices and general applications with lowpower, and high-performance microcontroller solution in small die size. It has a built-in NAND flash boot loader so that high-density NAND flash memory can be used without having to install an additional support chip. The SBC2440-I features two Ethernet ports and supports a variety of other onboard peripherals such as 1Mbyte NOR Flash, 64Mbyte NAND Flash, 64Mbyte SDRAM, USB Host and USB Device, RS232 and TTL, IDE interface, battery backed RTC, LEDs, reset buttons. The S3C44B0X CPU is a 16-/32-bit RISC (ARM7TDMI) CPU core with 8KB cache, optional internal SRAM, LCD controller (up to 256 colour DSTN), 2-ch UART with handshake (IRDA1.0,16-byte FIFO), 4-ch DMA, System manager (chip select logic, FP/EDO/SDRAM controller), 6-ch timers with PWM, 71-bit general purpose I/O, RTC, 8-ch 10-bit ADC, I²C-BUS interface, I²S-BUS interface, Sync. Embest AX4510 EVB for S3C4510B is a platform that is suitable for code development of Samsung's S3C4510B(ARM7TDMI) RISC microcontroller (General ARM) for network applications and general applications.

The S3C4510B is based on 16/32-bit ARM7TDMI RISC processor. It offers a configurable 8K-byte unified cache/SRAM and Ethernet controller which reduces total system cost. Important peripheral functions include two HDLC channels with buffer descriptor, two UART channels, 2-channel GDMA, two 32-bit timers, and 18 programmable I/O ports. On-board logic includes an interrupt controller, DRAM /SDRAM controller, and a controller for ROM/SRAM and flash memory. The System Manager includes an internal 32-bit system bus arbiter and an external memory controller.
