8, 16 & 32 bit iSYSTEM Universal ICE
iSYSTEM manufacture a range of 8, 16, 32 bit ICE and BDM Emulators, all utilising the same powerful user interface - winIDEA Their emulators are designed using the latest FPGA technology so to change between emulating one CPU to another there are no boards or jumpers to be changed. It's only necessary to swap pods, select the desired CPU in the software and the ICE is reconfigured by software. Interchangeable pods are available for over 200 different microprocessors. Because of this advanced technology they are among the most economical ICE on the market today.

BDM/SDI/JTAG
with TRACE
BDM provides very cost effective debugging
however it is only recently that it has been enhanced to provide
Real Time Trace capabilities. iSYSTEMs implementation of
this is very clever as it uses their advanced FPGA techniques to
make it appear that the full CPU bus has been output by the
Trace (rather than the highly compressed data stream that is
sent back). This makes for a very natural debugging
interface that is independent of the details of the Trace
interface.

Does the world need another Integrated Development Environment? In this case, YES - because the window used for setting breakpoints and stepping through source code is also the window used for editing. Then by pressing the Make button, the code change is compiled, linked, the binary is downloaded and all the watches and breakpoints are restored ready to continue testing.
All the iSYSTEMs products are controlled by the same user interface. winIDEA's structure is based on Microsoft Developers Studio which is increasingly becoming the standard environment for program developers. By integrating program development with driving the ICE it allows the user to concentrate on the development process without having to swap between Editor/Compiler/Linker/Debugger and back to Editor.
